Good Night, and Good Luck

Dear America,

The moment I walked into the room--I have to admit this--I was inexplicably drawn to you. Despite your chain smoking and the worry lines pulsing at the edge of your hairline I couldn't help but admire your carriage and persistance. I'm not always sure you're running off the right side of the coin, but what the hell. I'll take you for a spin, because I think you've got it in you to be great. Even if you're not great yet. You're working harder than anybody else in the business and you've got that much going for you at least, as well as those soulful eyes and the war-wrangling, Wellesian voice. Don't weep. I'll get you home and we'll walk in together.

Love,
the Truth
